Vietnam is implementing a circular wastepaper recycling system

Waste paper

Vietnam has decided to address issues related to wastepaper recycling. Local authorities are already concerned about the significant amount of this secondary raw material being generated. Collection companies are actively sorting used paper. For reference, the country generates nearly 7 million tons of wastepaper annually. However, only slightly more than 50 percent is recycled. This is a good figure for a country such as Vietnam. However, plans have already been made to implement a more efficient circular wastepaper recycling system that will allow used paper to be returned to production. Such decisions are encouraging, as authorities in every country must address issues related to proper waste disposal and recycling.

Vietnam, like other countries, faces the problem of large numbers of landfills. As a relatively small country, it’s easy to imagine how these landfills create uncomfortable living conditions for residents. Considering that waste paper is a recyclable material, it’s clear that the number of such landfills can be reduced by implementing a circular recycling system. Paper that is used should be recycled, not sent to landfills. It’s clear that landfills aren’t formed solely from waste paper. However, even decisions regarding this raw material are important and crucial.
