Despite the global development of waste paper recycling policy, there are cases when this development is suspended due to the actions of the authorities. For example, in one of the US states, local officials decided to close the program for recycling used paper and cardboard, including OCC12 and other grades, considering it unprofitable. Such decisions are detrimental, since a lot depends on the actions of the authorities in this area. Although the program was budgetary, and its closure opens up opportunities for private companies, it is impossible to say that this is right.
Everyone, including the state and individuals, must understand how important recycling is for modern humanity. The development of this area determines whether we will live in a clean world or get bogged down in mountains of garbage. The authorities of each region must solve emerging problems using rational approaches. It is necessary to look for ways out of the current situations without harming the recycling industry and those programs that allow for the successful recycling of waste paper and cardboard. With joint efforts and the right decisions, it will be possible to improve the work, which makes it possible to recycle more secondary raw materials and not send them to landfills.
