A forecast for recycled paper consumption in the United States has been compiled. This refers to the product obtained from recycling OCC cardboard 11 and other types of wastepaper. According to the forecast, the volume of this paper will grow, even increasing significantly over the next 10 years – by 1.5 times. The forecast also applies to the consumption of packaging made from recycled paper. This analysis will clearly be encouraging for everyone involved in the supply of recycled paper and its recycling.
Why will this happen? In addition to the active promotion of a cleaner environment and the implementation of closed-loop systems, particularly for paper, there is another influencing factor. US authorities are introducing bans on the use of single-use plastics, which is encouraging manufacturers to switch to other types of packaging. Bags made from recycled paper, for example, are now and will continue to be very popular. Accordingly, as the phase-out of single-use plastic products is implemented, demand for products made from recycled paper will only grow and increase in volume. It’s entirely appropriate that authorities are trying to introduce bans of this nature, as they are aimed at keeping the world a cleaner place for future generations.
