Europe needs more processing plants

OCC 12

The situation in Europe shows that more recycling plants need to be built. Current capacity is insufficient, as large amounts of paper waste are generated, and the packaging market increasingly demands new products. Food manufacturers want to use cardboard packaging, which, as we know, is currently made primarily from recycled paper, including OCC 12. Consequently, consumer demands are growing, and existing recycling plants for recycled paper cannot produce the volumes of finished product that will fully satisfy demand.

There are already plans to build new recycling plants in Europe. Moreover, some EU countries are considering expanding production not only for waste paper but also for other waste, particularly textile waste. Textile waste can also be converted into paper. Technologies for such recycling already exist and are being used. However, to expand production capacity, new factories must be built to process the same textile waste. Of course, it’s encouraging that Europeans want to expand their processing capacity. Moreover, their plans are generally being implemented, and plants are being built not just in words, but in deeds. Clearly, implementing these plans requires colossal efforts. But these efforts, as we know, bring only benefits, not only to society but also to businesses and countries as a whole.
